Mark E. Almeida was named President upon the formation of Moody’s Analytics in January 2008. In this role, he oversees Moody’s offering of products and services that are used extensively by financial institutions worldwide. With deep expertise, rich experience, and a commitment to continuous advancement in financial analysis, Moody’s Analytics offers a wide range of solutions for measuring and managing risk. The company’s research, data products, consulting services, and software solutions support the risk management, commercial lending, and capital markets activities of customers in more than 100 countries worldwide. Moody’s Analytics employs some 2,400 staff worldwide, and generated revenue in excess of $900 million in 2013.

Prior to this position, Mr. Almeida was Senior Managing Director at Moody’s Investors Service, where he was responsible for the marketing and distribution of research and related products developed by the rating agency.  Mr. Almeida joined the Corporate Finance division of Moody’s Investors Service in 1988. In anticipation of the common European currency and the associated growth of the pan-European debt capital markets, Moody’s assigned Almeida to its London office in 1993, where he established the company’s regional sales and marketing organization for Europe. On his return to the New York headquarters, Almeida held a number of management roles. He was named Group Managing Director in 2000, and was promoted to Senior Managing Director in 2004.

Before joining Moody’s, Mr. Almeida worked in research and marketing for an economic consulting and securities data company. He holds a BA from St. Joseph’s University, and an MBA from the Leonard N. Stern School of Business at New York University.
Mr. Almeida and his wife, Theresa M. Galvin (SJU, 1984) live in a 19th century brownstone in the Carroll Gardens neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York. They were married in May 1987.
