About the Chapter

Saint Joseph’s graduates who have pursued careers in real estate and construction are making connections within their  professional chapter. The Real Estate and Construction Alumni Chapter is paving the way for affinity and shared-interest programming at SJU. The chapter hosts several events each year to connect alumni professionally and personally, with the University and with current students interested in careers in our industry. Our objectives are to:
  • provide SJU alumni with opportunities to network with peers in the real estate and construction industry
  • acknowledge those who have demonstrated the highest professional standards and practices through careers of remarkable success or projects of renown 
  • work with the University administration, specifically the Haub School of Business, to create industry-specific educational opportunities for both undergraduates and alumni
With over hundreds of alumni working in the industry, the chapter continues to grow each year, collaborating with other professional affinity chapters (including the Haub School Alumni Chapter) to provide opportunities for alumni to stay connected.


The chapter plans and hosts several events throughout the year. Past events included industry panels,  networking events, and SJU basketball game watches and pregame receptions.  The chapter also hosts their annual Christmas Luncheon where they award the Timothy R. Lannon, S.J. Leader of the Year Award to a leader in the field who has shown outstanding loyalty, dedication, and service to the University.  Alumni also are encouraged to participate in signature SJU events like Hawktoberfest, Global Community Day, and the Alumni Gala.

How to get involved

Alumni can participate in a variety of ways, including signing up to receive communication about upcoming events, becoming a mentor, getting involved as a chapter officer, and helping the group grow by inviting former classmates to attend upcoming events and connect with the chapter.

The Chapter has established a Real Estate Fund to support the activities of the chapter including:

  • faculty and academic development
  • student projects and support
  • alumni and campus engagement
