About Young Alumni
The Alumni Association promotes and encourages alumni involvement the first 10 years after graduation. As the newest Saint Joseph’s alumni, you and your fellow recent graduates face similar challenges as you establish career paths and explore new ways to develop connections outside of college. At the same time, you share the bond of an SJU education and the call to 'doing well by doing good' inherent in upholding the Jesuit ideals. SJU’s alumni community helps you meet these challenges… while having some fun in the process.
Events & Volunteer Opportunities
Whether you’re in your first year as an alum or several years out, there are opportunities at every stage. Young Alumni stay engaged through activities, events, and programs that bring people together, both on campus and throughout the country. At select events, young alums are frequently offered discounted registration rates. This past year, young alums have frequented events such as:
Young Alumni are also encouraged to return to campus to participate in events such as Global Community Day, Hawkfest and the Alumni Gala to show their Hawk pride! To see upcoming events in your area, visit the alumni events calendar.
How to get involved
First and foremost, make sure to update your contact information! In order to best communicate with you and stay connected, it’s important to provide your most accurate information. For events in specific regions, having your address will help. Most of our communication is also electronic, so be sure to provide your preferred (non SJU) email address!
Make sure to visit our volunteer headquarters where you can learn how to become a mentor, help Admissions as a Hawk Ambassador, get involved as a chapter volunteer, or host your own SJU in a Box event. Don’t forget to invite former classmates and friends to attend upcoming events and connect with our alumni chapters! Be sure to also follow SJU on social media, where you’ll be able to stay connected and find information about events, traditions, and happenings on campus.
